OUR STORY: In 2006, Jim and Maggi Dalton, together with several colleagues from the educational, professional, and musical fields, founded a new nonprofit organization, The Institute for Music, History, and Cultural Traditions.

IMHCT.ORG was founded to foster a scholarly, broader and richer understanding of (and love for) the importance of music in human history, in creative, entertaining, engaging and innovative ways.
To expand that mission, and extend that vision, the Institute produces the American History and Music Project ™.

The American History and Music Project™ will combine historical music and local history programs,
offered to the public throughout the North Shore and in Boston, Mass.

In addition, the Project will sponsor in-school, after-school, and extended-day educational programs for children K-12, at the college level, and in community centers for adult populations.

Each program will feature, in addition to musical performances and concerts,
a local history component in collaboration with local cultural, educational, and artistic nonprofit organizations in each town in which a Project Event is held.

Proceeds from Project performances will help to fund the educational services of the parent organization, IMHCT.ORG.

Please note : The Institute/Project cannot and does not accept
unsolicited material or applications
from individual performers and speakers.
Please DO NOT send any materials to our office.

Please respect this request.

All unsolicited performer and speaker materials,
in any format, will be returned unopened or discarded.
